Dissolved Air Flotation
The (DAF) System is very effective way to separate suspended solids emulsified oils from industrial waste streams. It is being widely preferred for especially waste activated sludge.
Air is introduced into a solution that is being held at an elevated pressure. When the solution is depressurized, the dissolved air is released as finely divided bubbles carrying the sludge to the top, where it is removed.
Separation Chamber
As the supersaturated recycle flow is reduced to atmospheric pressure, small bubbles form and attach themselves to the particles, floating them to the surface.
The particles and air form a float on the surface of the separation cell where they are skimmed off.
